Obsessions, Depression and Demonic Oppression by Mark E. Finn

Having dealt with mental illness for many years I have found a connection. This connection lies between the physical and spiritual planes. I hope to encourage those who have the faith of Jesus to endure the hardships ahead and know that they are not alone. There is more to life than what we see with our eyes. And what we don’t see with our eyes wreaks havoc in our minds and homes. The book is about what I’ve experienced and come to know. Has your life become overwhelmed with obsessions? Does depression keep you down? Have you felt the sinister forces of the spiritual realm trying to kill your joy and maybe even your life. Join me on this journey, its not long; so read it as often as you must. I hope you find the answer to your problems like I did. I write this so that maybe you won’t have to go through all the hard knocks and searching I did. Best wishes and God bless.

About the Author

Mark is Husband to Linda Marie Finn, Father of three challenging  children ages 15, 14 and 10 and follower of Christ !  Mark is also the Author of Simple Thoughts of a Faithful God.

My Thoughts

After  being married to Mary for 17 years this year and seeing Him struggle with Depression and watching him try to overcome through Christ, I can tell you he is stronger then he thinks he is. Living in this fallen world, anyone could become depressed just watching the news and seeing all the evil going on in everyday life.  It is even harder seeing our teen girls suffering with depression and the issues of becoming an adult. Life is not easy at times for most. My husband shares his true love for the Lord Jesus and also shares his struggles in the second book.  We both hope that His thoughts on God, Life and the Trials of Life, will be a blessing and help to all who read them.

Minute 1: scripture to meditate on; Minute 2: a short devotional reading; Minute 3: a prayer to jump-start a conversation with God. This portable package makes a fabulous any-occasion gift for every woman.

My Review

I really like this Devotional ! It is short and just the right thing to start the day with if your a busy mom. It could also be read to daughters by the mom as a short devotion of God’s Love to share with them as they move into womanhood.  Being  a homeschool mom it is important to me to spend a few minutes with the Lord and this gave me a few minutes if I get up and children are already up. It brings peace and joy to my heart in a few short moments and that is what I needed lately to inspire me.

Mom Seeks God

By Julia Roller

MomSeeksGodcover-e1387346077651

The first months and years of motherhood can be the most challenging and disorienting of your life—and faith. When you’re surrounded by the happy chaos of children, how do you spend quiet time with God if the only quiet time you get is while you sleep? How can you demonstrate a solid spiritual life to your children if you don’t have time to pursue one yourself?
When Julia Roller discovered that her spiritual growth had been stunted by the busyness of life with her toddler, she embarked on a yearlong journey through ten spiritual disciplines: prayer, fellowship, submission, study, simplicity, silence, worship, fasting, service, and celebration. As she focused on each discipline, she discovered practical ways to observe them—even in the chaos of her every day.

My Review

I am so glad that I was chosen to review this book.  I know now that the Lord wanted me to read this at this time. I was searching for time to be with the Lord and searching for a better way to teach my children about God and his love. One of my fondest memories was of  my mom reading her bible sitting on the couch.  So I wanted my children to have the same memories of me and if they remembered one thing  about me I wanted it to be that I loved Jesus and had a personal relationship with him. One in which I spent time in the Word and Prayed and they saw me doing these things.  But it seems that life always somehow gets in the way at times from allowing me personal time with the Lord.  And surely I needed to practice Grace even in times of  chaos !  If you seem to find no time to be personal with the Lord, this is the book for you. Julia shares with you how to make those things real and happen in your life. You will learn how to make God a habit. How to let others into your life. You will read about real submission and God’s will. How to build a firm foundation through study of the Word. How to turn off everything and How to get with God and receive his gifts !  I hope you will take time to get a copy of this book and let it sink deep into your heart and mind. Let it transform your day and your life !
