- Things I have to do ( caring for, feeding and homeschooling children)
- Things I should do (Dishes, Laundry, Cleaning, Fixing Food, Making sure Kids Bathe, Serving Others and Fellowship with other believers)
- Things I want to do ( My website w/blog (new), Read Books, Crochet, Quilt, Sew)
- Things I’m doing to “look good” or doing out of guilt (For me this is stop doing anything I enjoy and do what everyone else expects me to do)
I am going to be point blank honest. My van is dead, its been dead for over 4 months. I have not left my domain for 3 months, not even to shop.( I let my DH) I hate the rat race of running to do stuff all the time. I am here in the Home. To me that is a good thing. Most of the time its relaxing just to be home. I am not much on calendars, but I keep on for my blog/to do list. (I am working on this area) I have a binder I found that I truly think I am going to love and intend to use. I also have a blog planner I am intending to use. I like using things I can see at a glance. I would like to get one of those huge desk calendars that has 3×3 squares to write in for the day, so I can see all of it on that, but have it all written down in my planners into a combined large Binder. I want to have sections in my Binder for a Household planner, Homeschool planner and a Pantry planner. My favorite binders can be found at A Well Kept Home.
The binders I like I found at
I was looking around for free ideas and came across this pinterest board today.
The one thing I still want to know is what calendar program your using Tricia ? Love the colors !
I tried Google Calendar and it just isn’t my thing, I suppose one day maybe it will be but for now I am one of those have to have it hardcopy type of girl !
I also am a rarely ever watch TV person ! I do tend to watch movies that are patterned after books I have read. Me time ? Whats that ? I don’t mind shopping but I have been too tired to do it myself. I do my own pedicures and manicures here at home. I would opt for more couple time !
I can’t wait till Spring is really here, the crocus are up and now they are saying snow again…
On day 3 of a detox, feeling like I got a nasty cold and headache…
Prayers Appreciated !
Day 4 : Believing GodDelight thyself also in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalms 37:4Believing and Trusting God in all things. I believe that I am called to many things in this life. I am here trusting him fully in everything to do with my life today. I came to know Jesus early in life, making a confession of faith at the age of 6 years old. I grew up in a ” christian ” home. Both my parents professing Christ. We did go to public school K- 2nd grade. After this I attended Faith Baptist Academy from 3rd to 7th grade. I learned so much about God and about his ways growing up. I am thankful for that solid foundation in the faith. Without it I would have been lost for eternity. Here are the things I believe I am called to.1. I am called as a born again believer to be conformed to the image of his Son Jesus.2. I am called to walk worthy of my calling.3. I am called to be a godly wife.4. I am called to be a godly mother.5. I am called to share my testimony of his saving grace through faith in God’s free gift of salvation.6. I am called I belive to write Poetry , Fiction and Non-Fiction.7. I am called to be creative in many various art forms, drawing, sewing, quilting, crocheting. Not necessarily in that order but fairly close to it.I believe that he has given me everything needed to accomplish all these things I am called to do and I know that if I delight myself in Him, he will give to me the desires of my heart.~ Linda ~
Balanced by Tricia GoyerDay 3How I can try to involve my kids in my work !I really had to give this some thought and it sure helps to read how others are doing this. I have 3 children at home DD 11, DD 10 and DS 6. The writing I am doing right now for a book I really cannot include them in as it is part of my life experiences as a young woman going through a teen pregnancy. So, if I cannot involve them I try to find things for them to do while I am busy writing. They like to do arts and craft projects, so drawing or anther art project can be done. When I can involve them in my writing I will seek to do the following things.1. Have them help me with research on the areas needed.2. Bring them with me to gather information or things needed.3. Bring them with me to events.4. My girls love to draw, so they can illustrate some for me.5. While I work they love to bake, cook and fix special foods for us.6. I can have them help me prepare for get togethers we have here in our home.I will be honest to say that at times they truly bless me in fixing the food or cleaning for me. It is truly for our whole family. I find some chores and household things hard to do now. Since 2001 when I had an accident my back, neck and leg issues have gotten worse. So standing, bending, lifting and squatting are very hard for me.Even my hands give me fits as the Dr says I have tendonitis, so typing this isn’t comfortable but I press on. I am feeling a strong calling on my heart for sharing those things that the Lord has brought me through. It is truly a way that I can share my life and heart with others and bring glory to the Lord. It is a strong calling, for years the Lord has been saying ” Lin, share what I have done for you”. There is so much the Lord has done for me in my life. It is Him who receives all the glory and honor for what he has done for me.This year I want to get my girls writing more and I have been looking at ideas everyone else has out there, journaling ( I so wish I had journaled all my life) Think of all the notes that I would have by now to share with my girls)I have long admired those who have the ability to share by writing, as i never considered myself a writer. But here I am writing a book. I had written a few poems in the past and love poetry, but never thought on writing a book till last year. And here I am speedbo participant 2014. I am at 7500 words so far !~ Linda ~
~ Day 2 ~
~ So here we are on Day 2 of The Balanced Challenge. I believe today’s assignment was to organize our office, study area, desk, calendar. I keep telling myself that I am going to go get a larger calendar or use one on my PC. So far I have not done that and with the rate its snowing, I am staying in today, tomorrow and I might as well hibernate for the rest of this winter season. Were having a blizzard and My desk upstairs is in a sad state of repair. I will get it sorted and organized soon. The bedroom where my office area is, well its under construction. Its being revamped. We decided to rip out all that lathe and plaster. We have sheetrocked the whole room and it needs sanding, priming and painting. DH won’t go for any painting till we can open all the windows and let fresh air in. So that is on hold for now but I am telling you when its nice out and that room is painted, well I will be redoing my built in desk bookselves up there so that I can work on things early in morning before the children get up.
~ Now Calendar, we can talk about that. Tricia said share pictures…lol OK its crazy and I should use my blog planner I have to do that stuff. I have most everything here for making a household planner ect and fully intend to do that this year.
Very messy as it is a small calendar, so here is where I need to improve. When I get my desk done, I plan on one of those desktop huge calendars with large squares I can write in all my dates for things. I am also planning to do a blog planner and a household planner , maybe even a pantry planner. Lots of room for improvement here. I do like Google Calendar on my pc, but I really need to learn how to use it better. I have a sweet author friend who gave me different colored pens, so I am thinking that these will work well to use in a calendar/planner in the near future. Also highlighters too…such a thoughtful gift ! I am not ready to share the desk that were building in just yet, I cannot paint it till we finish the bedroom this spring/summer. Yes I wish I was totally organized, but for now this is where I am at.
I will admit that Tricia’s book Balanced, Women Living Well and a few other books like Organizing your Prayer Closet are wonderful books to get you started in Living a balanced, organized life.
